Central Institute of Technology
Central Institute of Technology is Western Australia’s oldest post school institute, established in 1900 to provide skills for the growing economy. Now one of Australia’s largest training institutes, Central trains more than 30,000 students a year in more than 400 courses.
Central welcomed its first international students in the 1950’s as part of the Colombo Plan which fostered political, economic and cultural engagement in the region. Funded by the Western Australian State Government, but operated independently, Central is well resourced and financially secure. Recently awarded the prestigious ‘International Training Provider of the Year’, Central now enrols more than 1200 international students from 85 countries, in courses as diverse as engineering, mining, health, business, information technology, visual arts and design.
As the premier provider of English language training in Western Australia, Central’s Centre for English Excellence provides an extensive range of stand-alone ELICOS courses and ongoing language support throughout your studies.
Our city-based campuses feature state of the art facilities and are located in the heart of Perth’s education, cultural and entertainment precinct. Easily accessible by public transport, international students enjoy the benefit of studying alongside local students in a friendly, safe, and secure learning environment.
Over 80% of our international courses are at Certificate IV level and above. We partner with industry and universities to ensure our graduates have more choices for jobs or further study. Currently over 75% of courses for our international students link directly to university courses.
Specialised international student services are provided throughout your studies.
